What size are your patterns?

Our patterns range from newborn through to 12 years. Our baby/toddler patterns generally range from newborn to 2 years. Our little girl/big girl patterns from 3-12 years or 3-10 years.
When you purchase one of our patterns, you'll receive all the sizes available for that style.View size chart here to decide which size pattern you'll want to sew up.

What sewing level am I?

Our patterns come in 4 recommended skill levels. If you're a true beginner you might want to try out some of our free patterns to get you started, without risking any cash. I recommend giving anything a shot, it's the best way to learn!

Project - these patterns are designed with the beginner sewer & child seamstress in mind. They are easy & fun to make, & better still.... they're free to download.
Beginner sewer - these are great patterns if you're new to sewing or you'd love a pattern that's super quick to knock out.
Intermediate sewer - designed for the sewer that has a little sewing experience & knowledge under their belt. Contains some steps that'll require you to take your time to work through.
Experienced sewer - Ok I admit, you may need a tad bit of experience to crack these garments out. There's only one way to become an experienced sewer though & that's to give everything a try. (If you're a beginner attempting these patterns. Maybe keep your quick unpick close by).

What's a Wardrobe?

Our patterns are collated into Wardrobes rather than released by season or collection. Like any wardrobe, we'll add patterns to them over time. You can be sure each pattern within a wardrobe has been designed to complement other items within the wardrobe. Pick a couple of items from the same wardrobe & rest assured they'll look smashing together.

Help! I'm stuck.

We've all been there. That pattern is just not making sense. I'm more than happy to help, just flick me an email - amy@patternandcloth.com. However if you're anything like me, visual help is 1000 times better than words. I highly recommend searching www.youtube.com for visual instruction on how to do hard steps if you're really struggling.

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a digital file which needs to be opened using a PDF reader. You can download one for free such as Adobe Acrobat DC (free to download from https://acrobat.adobe.com/us/en/acrobat/pdf-reader.html). Your pattern will be emailed to you once your transaction has been processed. The link to download your pattern file will be sent to your email inbox ready for immediate download. Instructions & pattern can then be printed on your home printer.

How do I receive my PDF pattern?

Once your payment has been processed by Stripe. You'll automatically be sent a download link to the email address you specified when purchasing your pattern. You'll have 24 hours to download your pattern before the link expires.

How do I print my pattern?

Our patterns can be printed on any desktop printer using US Letter or A4 white paper. There's no scaling to be done & all of our pattern pieces are printed in black & white (our instructions have a small amount of colour printing throughout. Select black & white printing in your printer settings if you want to avoid using colour). For more information on Print & Assembling Pattern.
